M. Darowski at the M. Na\u0142\u0119cz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. This device allows&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>for independent ventilation of both lungs of a patient requiring intensive care.<\/strong><strong>Due to the limitations of the medical system and in a crisis situation, this device can be used to simultaneously ventilate two patients. This is particularly important in the face of the current pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The subject of the tests is to assess the safety and effectiveness of simultaneous ventilation of two animals using one ventilator and the Ventil device. The tests are conducted on pigs under general anaesthetic, as well as to determine the penetration of pathogens between the air paths of the device, and consequently between the respiratory systems of the animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tests are the responsibility of a team of WULS scientists led by prof. Zdzis\u0142aw Gajewski and prof. Romuald Zabielski, and the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences under the supervision of prof. Adam Liebert and prof. Piotr \u0141ady\u017cy\u0144ski.
