Cleanroom Laboratories of the Center for Translational Medicine

The Cleanroom Laboratories of the Center for Translational Medicine represent a state-of-the-art, specialized research facility designed to support the most demanding projects in molecular biology, cell culture, and nanotechnology. The facility offers unique capabilities for conducting research in tightly controlled environments while maintaining the highest standards of sterility, biosecurity, and reproducibility.

The primary role of the Cleanroom Laboratories is to support studies that require exceptional cleanliness and quality control — from mammalian cell experiments and nanoparticle research to advanced molecular imaging and analysis. The laboratory plays a vital role in translational and preclinical research, particularly in oncology, neurobiology, immunology, and pharmacology.

Thanks to its advanced equipment, the laboratory enables fully automated, long-term cell culture, precise single-cell isolation using laser microdissection, and high-resolution, real-time 3D imaging of cells and tissues. The high level of process automation and rigorous cleanliness protocols allow for the execution of projects that require minimal risk of contamination and the highest levels of repeatability.

Cleanroom Laboratories Equipment
• Laser Microdissection System – precise isolation of individual cells and cellular structures,
• BioSPa Robot – integrated system for automated incubation, dosing, media exchange, and microscopy,
• Confocal Microscope with Spinning Disk – advanced real-time 3D imaging of cells and tissues,
• Flow Cytometer (Apogee) – analysis and sorting of cells and nanoparticles,
• Bioreactor with CO₂ Incubator – for suspension cultures, including cancer cells,
• Laser Particle Counter – air quality monitoring and detection of particles ≥0.3 µm,
• Laminar Flow Cabinets – providing sterile working conditions for biological materials,
• Laboratory Centrifuges with dust protection – for safe and rapid sample preparation,
• CO₂ Incubators – for precise cell culture conditions,
• Ion Torrent Next Generation Sequencer – Ion Torrent for high-throughput genomic and transcriptomic analyses.

Collaboration Opportunities
• Laser microdissection for isolating cells and preparing material for molecular analysis,
• Automation of cell culture in a closed and sterile environment, including the application of test substances and drug formulations,
• Advanced 3D imaging of cells and tissues using confocal microscopy,
• Sorting and analysis of nanoparticles and cells using flow cytometry,
• Environmental monitoring and cleanroom-standard maintenance for highly controlled research conditions,
