AAALAC International Accreditation

Since 2022, the Small Animal Facility at the Center for Translational Medicine has held full accreditation from AAALAC International (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International).
This prestigious accreditation confirms that all procedures related to the housing of laboratory animals and the conduct of scientific research are carried out in accordance with the highest global standards of animal welfare, ethics, and scientific quality. The Center for Translational Medicine is one of the few research institutions in Poland to have earned AAALAC accreditation, underscoring its commitment to exemplary working standards and responsible animal research.


Standards of Care and Research


As part of the Small and Large Animal Facilities, the following standards and procedures are ensured:
24/7 specialized veterinary care and supervision,
Automated environmental monitoring using the RMS (Room Management System),
Maintenance of optimal environmental conditions tailored to species-specific requirements,
Comprehensive support in preparing documentation for submission to the Local Ethics Committee,
A highly qualified team of veterinarians and researchers, all certified and regularly trained in accordance
with the Polish Act on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes (Journal of Laws 2015, item 266).
